Our six new additions have now arrived at the farm shop. The six rheas have been settling into their new home, taking in the surroundings and are already quite used to Percy and Mr Bubbles in the next pen.
The rhea is an inquisitive, friendly, graceful and rather endearing creature which originates from South America. Rheas belong to a group of flightless birds called Ratites. They are large, flightless birds with gray-brown or white plumage, long legs and long necks, similar to an ostrich.
Come and visit the rheas behind the shop, just in front of Percy & Mr Bubbles. Grab a coffee from the shop beforehand and take in the view.
