The Kitchen

Lynn the cook making one of her famous quiches As our regular customers will confirm, we have developed something of a following for our home cooked food, especially our quiches and pies (steak and Guinness, Creedy Carver free range chicken, side by side - which is steak pie on one side with cauliflower cheese on the other) sausage rolls and Scotch eggs, coleslaw, chocolate brownies and lemon drizzle cakes, lasagnes, apple pies and fruit crumbles, all made with home grown and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
This past winter's success story has been Ros's home made soup - she can't make it quickly enough, it flies off the shelves - lots of different flavours, using seasonal ingredients; the minestrone and cream of mushroom are two of the old favourites but catching them up in popularity is curried butternut squash and parsnip - a relative newcomer! We have just started making asparagus quiche and asparagus soup again because it's 'that' time of year!
We also now make a selection of fruit based and vanilla ice creams, again, made with local cream, Helen's free range eggs and our own soft fruits - try some for a treat!

The kitchen is open for fresh produce every day except Sunday but food is available from the chiller cabinet every day and we try to ensure that there is something for both the committed meat eaters and the vegetarians.
